The cockpit holds navigation
controls. VCR buttons (arrow heads) carry you to first, previous, next, last,
pictures.

When the mouse hovers over this
menu graphic, a menu with several options pops up. Each menu item is
followed by a button
that brings up related help text. The menu also pops up when the `(backtick)
or . (period) key is typed.

Keyboard commands: (cockpit
& menu equivalents, not case-sensitive) The basic VCR controls have keyboard
equivalents. Type F,P,N,L for first, previous, next, last, picture. Also, commands
within the menu have keyboard equivalents: S for slide show (where pictures flip
automatically) and T for table of contents (usually thumbnails) are particularly
convenient.
Many commands toggle. For example, clicking Table of Contents in the
menu (or typing T) will show the table of contents when it's hidden or hide it
when it's visible.
For going through the pictures, the numeric
keypad is even easier: instead of F,P,N,L try 7,4,6,1 with
NumLock on. It sounds arbitrary, but these keys are also labeled Home,
left-arrow, right-arrow, End.
In general, any button or menu option where a word has a bold
character, can be activated by typing that character (e.g. T for
Table of Contents). Keyboard commands for the main pop-up menu work when the
menu is hidden or visible.
(Keyboard commands do not work for Netscape running on Linux.)
